“Inception” took moviegoers by storm in 2010 as a sci-fi flick that turned its audiences’ expectations upside down and inside out. If you haven’t seen it yet, “Inception” is well worth the watch and will leave you happily pondering what is and isn’t real long after it the movie ends. To keep you from feeling lost, here are a few things you should know about “Inception” before you watch and a bit of trivia for afterwards:

The film is based on a world where humans have the technology to invade each other’s dreams as a means of discovering secrets. This is called extraction and makes for the basis of the film. The lead character, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, is an expert in stealing secrets and information through entering others’ dreams.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page star in this Oscar-winning thriller, along with an all-star cast that includes Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard, Pete Postlethwaite, Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe and Tom Hardy.

The recurring dream soundtrack in the film is an dith Piaf performance of “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien.” Interestingly enough, Marion Cotillard played Piaf in the 2007 film “La Vie En Rose.” Even more coincidental is the running time of the film, which is two hours and 28 minutes, matches the first recording of “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien” which is two minutes and 28 seconds.

The solution made by Ellen Page’s character, Ariadne, in Cobb’s puzzle test is a diagram of King Minos’s Labyrinth. In Greek Mythology, Ariadne is King Minos’s daughter.

Once you’ve gotten through “Inception,” you may be wondering whether the whole film is a dream or if it closes in a state of reality. This is, of course, is the movie’s greatest strength: the audience’s enjoyment is in questioning what they’ve just seen. In fact, since the questions are half the fun, grab some popcorn and have a watch for yourself!
